ANCASTER SQUARE & MUNICIPAL OFFICES ADDITION

The renovations to the Old Town Hall in the former Municipality of Ancaster, provided approximately 15,000 square feet of state of the art library space on the upper level. The open concept plan provides ease in access and supervision. A children’s area compete with a miniature playhouse and decorative pattern flooring provide an exciting learning environment for children. A large lower level community and program room has one wall completely clad with the façade of the former council chambers wood paneling.

The lower level has received a complete renovation of the municipal services center and police services along with the Community Information Services Group. The multi-user groups were easily accommodated in the new program requirements for this rejuvenated building. The rear addition connects the upper and lover floors with one principal entrance and lobby and provides for complete barrier-free access to the entire building.

The exterior façade brings the old town characteristics back to the once modern 70’s façade. The use of stone and brick along with peek roof forms tie in with the surrounding buildings architecture.

 
 

EAST-END POLICE STATION
Hamilton, Ontario

This police station serves the east end of Hamilton and the City of Stoney Creek. The building has an inviting residential appearance in harmony with the surrounding houses. Sloping roofs and spacious courtyard, along with carefully selected finishes, reinforce its residential feel.
Unique Features include a close Quarters Firing Range, a Gymnasium and a Community Room.

 
 

UNIFIED FAMILY COURT
Hamilton, Ontario

The eight million Project was completed in 1989. It was sensitive and challenging. One of the City's landmarks, the old Hamilton Public Library, located next to the City hall forms part of the complex. The architectural treatment of the addition reflects the strong distinguished beaux arts style of the 1913 building. The inside restoration integrates with the new to form a modern efficient soothing setting for the court activities.
The Project received the 1989 Heritage Award.

 
 

PROVINCIAL COURTHOUSE
Hamilton, Ontario

Commissioned by the Hamilton Law Association, this Project studied the feasibility of converting Hamilton's landmark Dominion Public Building (the old Post Office) into a Provincial Courthouse. The Government approved the concept and implemented the Project. Our study shows a new addition and access from main street which provided a spacious Main Entrance to the Seven Courtroom Project. The Study was completed in 1989.

 
 

LIBRARY & ADMINISTRATION BUILDING
West Lincoln, Ontario

Opened in July 1994, the new building replaces the Old Town Hall that was on the same site. The Project Included the new Administration Offices, the Council Chamber, a Committee Room and 213 S.M. Public Library
